Álida O. Cordero is a self-taught artist who was born and raised in Patillas, Puerto Rico. She now divides most of her time between Puerto Rico and Florida. When not visiting old friends and family, she is busy in her studio, painting what she has seen whether in Florida, Cape Cod, Vermont or Philadelphia or Puerto Rico where she has a special affection for the unique environment of the Pterocarpus Forest in Palmas Del Mar.

While her favorite subjects are landscapes, seascapes, marshes and flowers, she is an artist who enthusiastically drinks in the world around her and brings her unique perspective to whatever crosses her path. Working with oils, acrylics, and watercolors, her art is realism interpreted by Álida. She is one of those artists who can be hard to pin down because she is fearless in trying new media and new techniques. However there is care and sensitivity in every endeavor, giving each work of art its own charm, vibrancy and soul, making the collection undeniably hers.

“I consider my art a way of sharing my heart and communicating the beauty I see all around me to my friends. “

Her vibrant work has an international following and is now owned by collectors throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada and South America.
